She was patient, kind, and empathetic, which I'll never forget. I was really scared when I got there, but she made me feel comfortable right away.
My cousin was recently rushed to the hospital following days of headache and nausea. The timing could not have been worse as we were in the midst of planning the funeral services for my mother's husband. The shock of J being admitted to the ICU, coupled with the grief of losing a loved one, could not have been worse for my mother. Eemah was assigned to my cousin's bedside on a one-to-one. Eemah was great at communicating my cousin's needs with the care team and supporting the family at the bedside. Eemah went above and beyond to provide not only bedside care but also emotional support to my cousin. My mother, who was present during much of my cousin’s hospitalization in the ICU, was so grateful to have a nurse like Eemah, who was patient and who explained the processes. We felt that having a nurse like Eemah made all the difference in my cousin’s care, and she was able to discharge from the ICU one day later. We are so grateful for our experience especially because of Eemah. Having worked in the medical field for many years, in addition to having had many hospital experiences with my late stepfather, I find it very rare nowadays to find an RN who really cares and provides compassionate care. Eemah demonstrates both knowledge, skill, and passion for the profession, which is very refreshing, and my faith is restored that quality RNs are still out there!

Eemah supported me while I was in the ICU, dealing with a diabetes diagnosis. She was incredibly attentive, and she taught me so much about my diagnosis. She was patient, kind, and empathetic, which I'll never forget. I was really scared when I got there, but she made me feel comfortable right away. She taught me how to test myself for blood sugar, how to inject myself with insulin, and how to alter my diet to be successful. Eemah gave me the confidence that I can make it through this and live a long life. She even came to visit me on the floor once I was released from ICU so that she could check on me and see how I was doing. Her calm, nurturing nature was exactly what I needed! She's a GEM and really deserves this award! Thank you!
