Eileen is compassionate, kind, and patient in all her interactions with patients, visitors, and her coworkers. However, one specific instance stands out for me. Eileen was caring for a patient with severe MS and he could not speak, or move independently. Eileen could tell by the patient's facial expression that he was uncomfortable and wanted something. Eileen very patiently went through letters of the alphabet so that the patient could blink when he heard the letter he wanted, eventually spelling "Hand". Eileen knew this meant he wanted his hands opened and positioned in a specific position because she took the time to know his preferences. Although Eileen was extremely busy, she made the patient feel like she had all the time in the world for him and his appreciation of her care was evident.
