Recently there was a 9N patient that needed to be transferred to Pittsburgh for care. The patient's wife was extremely upset not for her husband's transfer to AGH but rather the fact that she is uncomfortable with driving in big cities and was also unfamiliar with lodging considerations. Liz worked with the 9N unit secretary and obtained lodging at the "family house", which is a boarding house in Pittsburgh that also has a trolley service to local hospitals. Liz then acted as the "lead car" and drove to Pittsburgh on her day off with the patient's wife following closely behind in her own car. Upon arrival in Pittsburgh at the family house, Liz wished the patient's wife the best and then immediately got into her car for the long trip home.
