Ellen is an absolutely amazing nurse. I wish all kids at Children’s could have the chance to be taken care of by someone as wonderful as her. We have never met anyone so understanding, compassionate, and non-judgmental. She did one twelve hr. followed by two sixteen hr days (I counted :) ). Never once did her energy or kindness seem to fade. I had to go home with my other daughter and every time I called she took the time to thoroughly explain what was going on with my baby. My daughter was heavily sedated, yet kept waking up. The way Ellen talked to her was as if she was her own family. So calm, so caring, so loving, she insisted I not feel guilty and get some rest myself. Her reassurance kept my mind positive. She spent the majority of her shifts in the room, either tending to my baby, or answering one of my countless questions. When she was outside charting if I had a question she didn’t hesitate to stop and help. You could tell she was truly proud of my daughter as she started showing signs of improvement. I loved having her as my daughters nurse, I knew she was in good hands and I could relax. This woman is so kind and attentive. She deserves to be recognized. We love you ELLEN!
