Emily was on shift when we turned up. She made me feel so comfortable and calm the second she spoke to me. When finding out I was only 2cm, I had a little cry, and she hugged me straight away and told me not to be disheartened and how amazing I was doing. Emily explained to me what was happening to my body and calmed me down. She took me to a bed straightaway; I had gone to 3cm and was made comfortable by Emily. She stayed past her shift to make sure that I was ok and was as pain-free as possible.

After a long 12 hours in Triage with no pain relief I saw Emily’s face I was so happy. She came straight in to see me and made sure that I was seen to and given pain relief. Emily had to go into the delivery suite, but she made sure that I was well looked after before doing so. She made me feel so important and reassured me as a first-time mum.

Another nurse took over in the delivery suite, and she was amazing. Emily came to see me once I had given birth. She was so lovely and made me feel so proud of myself. She went out of her way in every way possible from the moment she saw me on Wednesday night to the second she left Friday morning.
