In my academic journey, Professor Bogart has been more than just a teacher; she has been a mentor, and a great example of what it means to be a compassionate and skilled nurse practitioner. What sets Professor Bogart apart is her ability to blend theory with practical application in a real world setting. I know as clinical faculty, I am able to discuss any concerns and am always met with compassion, knowledge, and a safe space that fosters genuine learning. Professor Bogart's commitment to nursing and education is evident in her daily practice.
During a faculty visit, my patient experienced an acute reaction to a specialized chemotherapy treatment. We worked together to stabilize the patient and during debrief, she translated this complex patient situation into a relatable lesson which has made a tremendous impact on my learning experience. Professor Bogart always shows genuine care and concern for her students well being especially during trying times of our studies. Her words of encouragement and influence have extended past the classroom and have inspired me in my future practice. She embodies the vision of The DAISY Award.
