Manny Nagera is a very good patient advocate, he can calm patients just by simply providing care that is always accompanied by great patience and encouragement, even with the most challenging patients. Numerous times there have been staffing challenges and Manny would always welcome an additional patient to help the unit. On one occasion, on top of his full load of patients, he accepted an emergent admit. He calmly and safely took care of the patient and was sure to communicate with the anxious family members. Another time, he took a high acuity patient along with his regular load, and he still managed to provide the excellent care that his patients deserve.
Manny has earned the respect of his colleagues and physicians. Multiple times, his patients came back to the ICU to thank him for his care and kindness, as well as his great bedside manner. Manny has been, and still is, a fantastic preceptor to the new hires. He is very patient when teaching them about the most basic to the most extreme cases. His preceptees have mentioned how thorough he is and how very keen he is with his teaching. His attitude, care, confidence, kindness, excellent bedside manner, and abundant knowledge make him a great asset to the team and the institution.
