Erandi was simply a light in the storm for two different surgeries for me. I was diagnosed with Rectal Cancer in December 2018. The following May I went in for rectum removal, 1 foot of colon removal and ileostomy. In my darkest hours of recovery, Erandi was not only supportive but demonstrated her passion for nursing by showing a huge amount of empathy while at the same time educating me and my wife on the recovery process. I would not have managed the pain as effectively or exercised as much without Erandi's support. It was as if though I had my Dr. there with me the entire time. I spent eight days in the hospital recovering from this surgery. Erandi was able to instantly gain our trust with her knowledge of my procedure and best practices to help in the recovery process. Subsequently, I returned to ORMC for an ileostomy reversal in August. Of course, I searched for Erandi every day and even requested her. At one point I saw her during one of my many walks around the floor (I was intent on getting the most stars.) and immediately her face lit up and her love and care showed by asking about my procedure, health, and how I was doing in the process. I did end up getting Erandi as my nurse eventually (another eight-day stay) and she was instrumental in helping me make good decisions when I was struggling the most.
