All three nominations mentioned Eric’s professionalism, patience, and kindness. “He has heart and compassion for his patients,” one family member wrote. The family of another patient commented, “He speaks to our mother as if she were a mentally alert, intelligent adult – which she is, even if she can’t express it.” They continued, “He looks Mom in the eyes when addressing her, asks her how she feels and about her preferences, explains everything he does, and looks to find new ways to help her. His focus is always on his patients.”
