Erika provided excellent care for a patient who developed acute psychosis. She suggested ways to escalate the situation (calling a BERT) in a way the medical team hadn't considered. She was able to be there to support the patient and family while also coordinating the various teams present- GI (primary service), neuro (consultant), psych, child life, social work, and security. Each team had various suggestions from their perspective and Erika made sure to advocate for the patient and what was in the patient's best interest. She managed to do all of this with a smile and I know the parents, patient, and doctors all appreciated her calm manner when dealing with this difficult situation. THANKS, ERIKA!
