Erin Danile, RN

 It’s my pleasure to nominate Erin Danile, RN, for the DAISY Award. We are a busy, large, well established Internal Medicine Practice in Wantagh. Erin joined our practice after working on the inpatient side. Although ambulatory medicine was new to Erin, she learned quickly, becoming a valued member of our team. Erin has excelled in our practice from her first day. However, the demands of ambulatory care in the time of COVID presented new challenges. From the start of the pandemic, Erin has shown a willingness to learn new procedures, techniques, and even words. Her ability to adapt is always amazing. Most notable, though, is her ability to connect with patients, with whom she communicates regularly for follow up of COVID. She has an innate ability to understand, elicit a patient’s concerns and fears, and guide them forward. She’s able to communicate the patients' concerns to the providers and communicate guidance from the providers to the patients. Most important to both patient and provider, Erin displays genuine empathy for our patients and their families. Patients sense not only her concern but its depth and sincerity. She has become a lifeline for our patients. Often, a patient has expressed to me their gratitude for her care and the security they find in knowing she is just a phone call away. Erin Danile, RN, truly embodies the best traits in a nurse, especially in the ambulatory role to which she is so naturally suited….because…she is "MADE FOR THIS!"
