Evie goes above and beyond as a charge nurse every shift she works, but this specific day, she showcased what being a nurse is all about: compassion, empathy, leadership, patient advocacy, and, above all, patient safety. Over the weekend, there was a patient in PP who was declining rapidly, and Evie advocated for the patient to be transferred to a higher acuity floor. The entire experience was heartbreaking and stressful because the patient lost her baby, and now she was not feeling well. Her family requested a chaplain, but the hospital did not have one available. Evie went the extra mile and called her dad to deliver the specific holy oil to the hospital so the family could pray with it. Moments like this show how truly amazing and caring Evie always is. Evie is a role model and leader.
