My husband was a patient on 3 East. He was cared for by many wonderful nurses and CNAs, but one nurse was outstanding. Her name was Farrah Kader. I am a nurse of 53 years. I am now retired but still licensed. I told my husband, “Farrah is one in a million.”

The following 12 hours bore me out. Farrah is brilliant. She completed a patient assessment as thoroughly as any MD and in some instances, more so. She met all my husband’s needs, including giving him a bath as he was too unsteady to shower. She educated him on what was happening inside his body and emotionally. This is not what sets Farrah apart from all the rest. It is her heart. It is pure gold! During the 12 hours she cared for my husband it was clear how much she genuinely and deeply cares for her patients. I thanked her for her caring attitude, and her response was, “When I am at work, my patients are my family.” This literally brought tears to my eyes.

Farrah came in to say goodbye. My husband looked at her and said, “Farrah, there are truly angels on earth because I have been touched by one today. Thank you.”

What more do I need to say about this most wonderful nurse and human being?
