But things changed when Fermina Rivera-Krishna noticed irregularities on the telemetry monitor, and went to the patient's room to check on the patient. It was here that Fermina's nominator came face to face with "a loving and caring human being! She embodies outstanding commitment and extraordinary follow-ups, and just all around compassionate care."

Because of Fermina, an unrelated heart condition was identified and fixed with a successful pacemaker surgery. The family is so grateful to Fermina, saying "God bless her and keep her strong and healthy so she can keep doing what she does best; saving patients lives!"
