First, I have to start off by saying this is my 4th time being a patient at a MedStar facility that required more than a regular doctor’s appointment (2 babies at MFSMC, and 2 same-day surgeries at MHH). This last experience for an Ortho surgery was amazing from start to finish - the best patient care I have ever received. Everyone who I came in contact with for my surgery was friendly, patient, and helpful including security, registration, pre-op team, OR team, my PA & surgeon plus transport. 

The highlight of my care was meeting and being cared for by Tony during my recovery. He was the most caring & compassionate nurse I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was so caring & patient when answering all of my questions. Even though I know he had other patients to tend to it felt like he never left my side. He helped ease my pain and, was caring & discreet as he helped me dress. He called my dad and gave him detailed instructions regarding my care (my dad would like to pass along his kudos as well). Tony even paid for my two prescriptions, out of his own pocket, that MSH pharmacy delivered since my ride was in the parking lot and not in the waiting room. Any time I needed something, Tony was there to help and never made me feel like a bother. He chatted with me and was personable as he helped me through my recovery.

I have been an MSH associate for over 21 years and truly have not met anyone who exhibits our SPIRIT values more than Tony!! He truly knows “how to treat people” and I hope he is recognized for his commitment to excellent patient care! I appreciate Tony and everyone else on my care team.
