Now we know any stay in the hospital is certainly not ideal, and generally, one would rather be anywhere else but in that bed. However, if fate and life required it, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else but Dr. Phillips Hospital, and under the care of Sonny and Fion. These two medical professionals made what would've otherwise been a very difficult time for me into an experience that was as comfortable as possible. They created an environment where not only did I feel cared for, but so did my family who visited me.
They were the epitome of professionalism balanced with humanity. They were able to break down any medical information I didn't understand into something that was approachable and sensible. They were people first. They went above and beyond to ensure I was cared for, and in good spirits, even with the amount of work I knew each had to juggle concurrently with taking care of me.
Their attention to detail was especially uncanny. It is nearly impossible to imagine the depth of focus they apply to each task they're responsible for regardless of how important it may or may not be. I've worn many hats in my career, and as a former Firefighter, I understand the daily burden and weight of putting others' welfare before your own. These two individuals exemplify excellence in both their field and in their role. Please extend my deepest gratitude to them.
