I would like to thank my nurse Francesca. I had come into the emergency room. The ER was packed with people, and I had to wait for 3 hours in the waiting room with flu like symptoms. The doctor came out to the waiting room to check me over because of the wait time so that he could quickly get some type of medication already scheduled for me when a bed became available. Great job here!  

When I was able to get back to a bed, Francesca was so very compassionate and empathetic. Even though you could tell that she had seen tons of patients just that day, she still took the time to listen to me, help me with extra blankets when I was cold, and quick to ask the doctor questions if she was unsure. She mentioned how much quicker it was for triage to have already done some of the blood work and to put in the IV, and with the doctor already having some medicine and treatment planned out, I was able to stop the vomiting quickly and get fluids replenished to get me back to coherence again.

Francesca regularly checked in on me while I was there while we were waiting on test results and the doctor to make a recommendation. She did not make me feel as if I was a burden or uncared for. Her bedside manner, humor, and empathy, I feel, also contributed to me feeling better. I was not just another number. I was a person who needed care and attention and Francesca made sure I had it.
