Gela SM Katkoua, RN
Gela is an incredible RN plus a human being! My mom was having quite a difficult time during her hospital stay. Gela related well with my mom and got mom to cooperate. Gela was always open to listening to the family for suggestions. And always helped my mom as well as our concerns. She went out of her way to reach the case manager and relay our preferences for discharge.
When mom would not eat, Gela went out of her way to find food from her dietician. Food that she actually liked, for example, pudding and ice cream snacks. Which was a milestone for us. The doctors would come and go quickly explaining procedures rapidly. But Gela always took the time and was so patient in explaining the tests and procedures to us and would answer all our questions. We are very grateful for all of Gela's kindness and assistance. We feel she is the perfect example of what a nurse should be. One of the finest nurses.
