As I have been rounding on patients on 8S on behalf of housekeeping, I have personally witnessed Gina's excellent work ethic and joyful disposition. She treats patients with great compassion and respect.
A patient has been here at AUMC for over 100 days. As Gina has cared for thispatient for almost 4 months, Gina has made the care very personal. For example, thispatient mentioned that she missed painting her nails. Gina came to the hospital next day and polished her nails. More recently, housekeeping acknowledged her 100th day in the hospital with her favorite candy, however, the candy was taken by another patient. She was very upset and Gina was quick to say she would replace the candy. In keeping with her word, she arrived at the hospital the next day, (and on her off day!), with candy in hand. Gina truly goes above and beyond.

"Gina made me feel at home. What I couldn't do for myself, she would do for me. Gina always had a smile on her face. She treated me like a person, not just a patient. She made my stay at AUMC wonderful!"
