Gina was nominated for selflessly lending a helping hand to a coworker in need and showing compassionate care to his patient. Gina's coworker was having a stressful night. In addition to having many patients who required an extra level of care, her coworker had a patient that was confused and had repeatedly tried to get out of bed. Her coworker was getting stressed and frustrated, and Gina could see it. Gina came into the room and told him to tend to his other patients while she watched over the difficult patient.
"When I came back, the patient was sleeping peacefully in bed," her colleague wrote in a nomination letter. "Gina had bathed him and made him comfortable in bed. So comfortable that he was sound asleep for the next three hours. It seems all he needed was some TLC, which Gina had so graciously offered. In my opinion, Gina went above and beyond - she didn't treat the patient with a quick dose of medication, but rather, gave the patient the compassionate and tender care he needed."
