One of our patients was very sick and not used to receiving care from others. He didn't call or ask for much, other than he "wished he had a hat to cover up his messy hair" a few times during his stay. Gina, being creative, innovative, and fun, fashioned him a "beanie" out of stockinette we had on the floor, top knot, and all! The patient mentioned to me, with a giant grin, how impressed and proud he was of his "hat"! He could be seen wearing his little white beanie frequently on the floor by anyone that passed by his room. Gina always goes above and beyond for the happiness of her patients, something that can be lost in the midst of medicine.
