Gloria Fletcher has worked at HCA Florida Osceola Hospital for 22 years. During that time she has cared for many patients and trained fellow colleagues. She is an outstanding bedside nurse, a valuable preceptor, and a highly respected Clinical Nurse Coordinator in her Oncology Unit.

Recently, a patient was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. During this challenging time, her patient was unable to effectively cope with the new diagnosis. Her patient was very angry with the team, but especially with her. Gloria was very sympathetic to the patient and committed to providing nursing care with her whole heart. One day, Gloria noticed the patient's behavior changed. She quickly contacted the provider and advocated for the patient to have a stat CT of the head due to the patient's memory changes. The stat CT showed a critical result, there was a brain bleed. Because of Gloria's clinical skills and advocacy, the patient was treated and eventually able to discharge home from the hospital.
