Gloria exhibits daily compassion and empathy for her patients and co-workers. Gloria went above and beyond her job when she discharged a patient who was homeless and had no income. Gloria bought her patient a tent, clothing, and food. She did not stop there. Gloria and her husband took the patient to get a SS card and state ID as well. They also re-applied for his SS benefits, which he will receive soon. This allowed him to be put on a waiting list for an efficiency apartment.
Gloria and her husband still check on him and buy him food regularly. More people should take an interest like this. She is making a positive change in this world and especially our community. I'm thankful that I work with her and that she sets such a great example of what it means to be a nurse. Thank you.
