Greg was able to be a calm, innovative advocate to coax and separate the group so that they could be coached individually to a less restrictive alternative.
Greg always exemplifies compassionate care on the PBMU. He is a phenomenal resource and teacher to his peers, new and floating RNs, and is always engaged in coaching and educating patients throughout their stay on the PBMU on how to build up their coping skill toolbox. He is a leader in providing excellent care and a strong advocate for remaining the least restrictive in interventions.
Recently, we had several peers who were colluding and escalated in a space, a tremendous number of staff was called to potentially run three codes at once, and Greg was able to be a calm, innovative advocate to coax and separate the group so that they could be coached individually to a less restrictive alternative. All of this occurred on an extremely high acuity day when staff bandwidth was running low, and the ability to pause and reassess greatly altered the plan. Greg's continued calm demeanor and willingness to support and educate fellow RNs and coaches is a tremendous asset to the PBMU team and our hospital as a whole. We are so lucky to have you on our team, Greg!
