Hailey not only cared for her patient in a kind and compassionate way but was also tender and understanding with the family.
There are so many times when Hailey has gone above and beyond for a patient. If I had to choose one this situation really stands out to me. Hailey had been taking care of a patient for several days – he was really decompensating and ultimately the family and patient had decided to go on comfort care.
The family was in the room for this. Hailey not only cared for her patient in a kind and compassionate way but was also tender and understanding with the family. She explained everything she did and made sure the patient was comfortable and clean – all while bringing the family coffee and blankets while they remained by their loved one’s side. Once, when I went into the room to help, the patient’s family remarked on how lovely, kind and attentive Hailey was. It’s true – Hailey is a rare breed – she is selfless, quick to help, caring, and always an advocate for her patients. We are all lucky to have her.
