We want to nominate Hanna because she went above and beyond for us. She listened to any concerns we had and was able to validate them. What she did that made her above everyone else was listen to her gut. Her words, "I do not have mother intuition, but I have nurse intuition, and I feel something isn't right." We were going to be going home that day, but Hanna wanted to do one more test. I am beyond glad that she did because we learned our son's sugar levels had dropped to 30, and we were not able to go home. We had told Hanna we had been asking about our son's shakes and jitters to several other nurses, but we were told it is normal and not really given more explanation than that. Hanna agreed that some shakes and jitters were normal but not to the extent he was showing. She said, "I know you were going home, but I wanted to be sure everything was good before letting you all go." We were able to facilitate a plan moving forward. Hanna made everything easy and smooth for us. She kept us and her colleagues in the loop for upcoming shifts. In the morning, Hanna came back and was able to report that our son was doing much better, and she kept up with any updates she even did another check with sugars before we left.
