Hannah Lam, MSN, RN, CCRN, was recognized for her extraordinary leadership and nursing care provided during the waves of the COVID pandemic from 2020 to 2022. Mrs. Lam was at the forefront of implementing new care paradigms in the early stages of COVID, and continually supporting her staff by often stepping in to provide direct patient care. She managed a critical care unit that was frequently outside its borders with patients receiving critical care in the PACU, Telemetry Unit, Old decommissioned ICU, and in the Emergency Department. She would organize the frequent opening and closing of these units, as well as staffing them, which was difficult at best. She organized the training for PACU, and telemetry nurses to either take critical care patients or support a team of patients in critical care with a competent critical care RN. Hannah spent day and night shift at the hospital. She is an extraordinary leader and very deserving of this special recognition.
