Hannah was proactive and attentive, ensuring he received the care he needed. She also made it a priority to make sure I was being taken care of too.
Hannah Lonneman was one of the nurses there when my four-month-old son was admitted to the pediatric unit with RSV and the onset of pneumonia. I was scared and felt so helpless. My son’s breathing got bad quickly, and things started moving really quickly. It was so awful to see my baby so sick. Hannah was proactive and attentive, ensuring he received the care he needed. She also made it a priority to make sure I was being taken care of too. She came to me and validated every emotion I was expressing. She made sure I knew who everyone in the room was, what they were doing, and what the plan was. My son was transferred to the PICU. Hannah came and sat next to me and again validated how scary this was but commended me for bringing him in and assured me he was in good hands. I felt peace knowing she was there. My son is now seven months old and is happy and healthy! I know this is just Hannah’s job, and I can only imagine all the many families she has positively impacted. But to me, it was so far above and beyond. I am so thankful for Hannah. I will never forget her.
