Heather had been caring for a 25 year old cancer patient who was the mother of two young beautiful girls. The patient had a poor prognosis and was not expected to live much longer. She mentioned to Heather that she just wished she could take her kids to the beach this summer. Heather contacted the Child Life department, supplied all of the decorations to create a tropical oasis for the patient and family, arranged for ice cream and pizza from the cafeteria, and located a portable TV so the family could watch a Disney movie together.
Heather truly loves to care for people and it shows in her actions every day.
