February 2024 Honoree
Heather Knezic, RN
I went to Kaiser and was induced. My nurse, Heather, was there for the entire process, from when I was induced to when I gave birth. My boyfriend was unable to be with me while I was in labor and gave birth since he was with our other three children. I felt alone and scared. I think I cried most of my time there, but Heather encouraged and supported me from the moment she was my nurse.
Every contraction I had, she was there to tell me I could do it. She made sure I felt comfortable and that she was there if I needed anything. From what I remember, I just could not handle the pain, and I don’t know how I acted towards the end, but Heather was patient and kind. She helped me when I was giving birth, telling me to go with the flow and never once questioning me about when I felt the need to push. With the trust she gave me for how I felt about my labor, I trusted her even more. I appreciate everything she did for me because if it were not for her, my labor and delivery would not have been the same.

Thank you, Heather, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
