I would like to recognize Heather Krook for all she has done for our unit and the night shift. She has trained many of our night team, and if she has not been their preceptor, she has been their Buddy, always checking and making sure they know she is someone who has their back. She is easy to approach to ask questions or help. She is soft spoken and a great listener, she never interrupts or judges anyone. She has incredible clinical skills and steps in when she sees someone struggling. It is Heather’s gentle leadership on nights that her coworkers appreciate. She is someone you can count on when you are in need. Over 2022 Heather stepped into the charge nurse role and cross training for chemo. She saw the need on the unit and offered to help. This has been an incredible help as the unit has had an increase in turnover and many travelers. In addition, Heather spent hours at home completing her chemo training so she could support the team. Not to mention, Heather’s bedside care to her patients is wonderful. She takes the time to listen and teach as she delivers care. I have no words left to express how much we appreciate Heather over this last year; we have been able to continue to deliver high-quality care to our patients with a leadership team on nights that care about our team, and Heather has been a large part of that.

Heather is an excellent nurse to work alongside. She completes her work in a timely manner and is very detailed oriented regarding patient care. She will always lend a hand when team members need help and does so with a smile on her face. She goes the extra mile to make sure that her patients are comfortable and very well taken care of. Heather goes above and beyond just the tasks required of her as a nurse, she ensures that the patient is treated as a person and that the orders match the care needed for that patient. She does not hesitate to call the doctors when she has concerns. It is a pleasure to have a nurse like Heather working with our patients.

Heather Krook is a great team player. She has been doing relief charge and from reports that I have heard from the other staff, she is doing a great job and they feel that she is a great resource. When I work with Heather, she is always helping other people when they need help and looking out for her patients. She is a great advocate and spends time getting to know her patients and anticipates their needs and wants. I always enjoy working with Heather.
