Heather Leva, RN

Heather Leva was trying to call a report to the floor upstairs for a patient who was being admitted. The floor clerk who answered the phone was not making any sense, words slurring, kept putting Heather on hold, etc. Heather called the nursing supervisor and notified them that the person answering the phone on the floor does not sound all right, that she might be having a stroke. The nursing supervisor went up to check on the floor clerk and called down to the ED that she was bringing her down for evaluation. The patient was evaluated and ended up being transferred out for further care.
