Working in Female Medical is a very busy allocation and very challenging at times. It is through Helen’s selfless act of putting patients first and working above and beyond the normal working practice of a shift that we find our nomination for Ms. Aisha Helen Lagrisola. Helen has shown dedication and commitment to the ward and her patients by working after her shift to ensure her patient had continuity of care while receiving chemotherapy and during this time supported her patient while they had the awful effects of the medication. This led to emotional support for the patient and her relative and ensuring that everything was explained including the side effects and the need to ensure the patient was also pain-free. This relative nominated Ms. Lagrisola by speaking to the ward interpreter that she was truly grateful to this nurse for her care and commitment to her Aunt.
