Ms. Luke is a registered nurse currently working on the sub acute unit. She is compassionate with her care and takes the time to know each other and every one of her residents by name during their short stay. On a daily basis, Ms. Luke is seen communicating with the residents where she is giving valuable education on their health and ways to control their symptoms. She is always reaching out to family members and ensuring that they are involved in the residents' care. Ms. Luke advocates for the residents who cannot speak for themselves and always follows through so that their needs are met. Her nursing skills are excellent as she is often referred to as the sharp shooter when it comes to inserting IVs. Ms. Luke displays great leadership and is a valuable team player who supports the staff and is always willing to help. In today's world of nursing it is difficult to find a nurse who practices nursing and exemplifies Florence Nightingale's vow "with loyalty will I endeavor to aid the physician in his work and devote myself to the welfare of those committed to my case". Ms. Hernetta Luke goes above and beyond to uphold these standards. It gives me great pleasure in knowing that I am blessed to have a practicing nurse who is reliable and committed. She is always empathetic and shows a great willingness to learn.
