All of the nurses that took care of me after my kidney donation were wonderful. I want to share a slightly different perspective of Holly. I may not remember exactly what she did or what she said but I do remember how she made me feel. I truly felt her thoughtfulness. She seemed to anticipate my needs. She brought me medicine right before I needed it. She gave it to me gently. When she walked into the room she was silent, so quiet and tender as she moved around, arranging things or preparing items that I may need. She did not turn on the lights unnecessarily, she used a flashlight being careful to not shine it in my eyes. She engaged with me. She asked me questions in such a way to invite me to participate with the other caregivers. She was humble in how she shared my progress with the next shift nurse; very thorough in covering my situation and checking with me she hadn't missed anything. Thank you so much, Holly!

Penn Medicine Research should be focused on how to clone this nurse's patience, caring focus, attentiveness, work ethic, and professionalism. If she ever takes a break, it's NEVER when a patient needs her. The only issue is - she raises the bar TOO HIGH!

Holly embodies the term 'above and beyond'. She is laser-focused on her patients during her shift. So much so that you cannot help but feel like you are her only patient. She is the quintessential example of why nurses are an invaluable COG in the healthcare wheel. Both MDs and RNs should follow her example.
