The patients entrusted to her care have an advocate in Hong.
If you were to look up the word 'dedication' in the dictionary you would undoubtedly find Hong Zhang's name. Hong is always going the extra mile for her patients and her colleagues. Very often 4 West leadership receives feedback that Hong has made a patient's time with us better by just being there. Hong provides a listening ear when her patients need it and a voice when they cannot speak for themselves. The patients entrusted to her care have an advocate in Hong.
Working nightshift can be a daunting time - waking up physicians to obtain orders can often be met with intimidating tones and unnerving questions, however, Hong takes it all in stride. She will stop at nothing to get her patients the treatment they need as well as the answers they want. Hong is often the charge nurse on 4 West and takes on the role with genuine determination. Her goal is simple - to make the next 12 hours as delightful as she possibly can for both her patients and her colleagues. Hong is always aiding both her RN and CCT colleagues. Hong is regularly tasked with 'getting the hard IV stick' as her colleagues know she will likely get the job done. Hong's tenacity is equally matched by her passion for her professional advancement.
Hong is the first CNIV at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. Hong has also inspired her colleagues to advance on the clinical ladder and very often reminds them all when various committee meetings are scheduled. Hong is always offering to cover for a colleague to ensure her unit is properly staffed. Hong will almost always respond to a request from leadership to work on a day off because she truly wants her colleagues to have proper staffing. Hong always goes above and beyond for her patients and her colleagues.
