I would like to take this opportunity to praise the care I received from my nurse, Huda Abdelqader, while I was at Parker Adventist recovering from spinal surgery. I returned to the hospital from home after my surgery by ambulance due to extreme abdominal pain from Stercoral Colitis. Huda was my nurse once I returned to the nursing floor from the emergency room. She calmed my fears, was so very gentle with my pain, was ever attentive, checking in on me frequently, even if I had not called for care, and smiled the most uplifting smile I had ever seen. Her demeanor was calming and reassuring, her understanding of my pain was validating yet she helped me move away from the pain and fear by calmly talking to me, explaining what was happening and being gentle with my embarrassment. Huda is by far the most wonderful nurse I’ve ever had, and there were many that cared for me during my stay at Parker Adventist who were outstanding. My highest praise goes to Huda and the person she is, the nurse that she is, and the most understanding caregiver that she is. I was so very blessed to have her as my nurse as I healed from the secondary infection that I incurred after back surgery. Huda, thank you, and may many blessings come your way as you shed your blessings upon your patients.
