Imani Hubbard

A patient on Imani's assignment had lost trust in his care team. The patient felt that the team was not carefully listening to him. Imani took time to thoroughly listen to the patient and performed a careful assessment, and Imani recognized the cause of the patient's concerns. Imani needed to advocate strongly for her patient to receive further assessment and treatment from the professional staff.

Imani continued to put patient needs first, provide compassionate care to the patient, and maintain respectful communication with the primary RN. Even when presenting this case to peers, Imani was a role model for professionalism again, demonstrating within her post-conference report how she took on the role of patient advocacy. Due to Imani listening carefully to the patient and putting his needs first, the patient was able to receive the treatment that was needed.
