The infusion clinic staff has the unique opportunity to get to know their patients one on one because the patient care and treatments require them to spend so much time together. Not only are the physical needs of each patient of utmost consideration but the emotional and spiritual needs of the patients are also given priority. One patient got engaged and the staff was able to host a bridal shower for her in the clinic. When events occur in the patients’ lives, the team takes time to send cards to patients to make sure they know they are being thought of. The team makes sure that birthdays are especially celebrated with encouragement and support. The staff uses the therapy dog for their patients and other resources. The team always ensures to have snacks available to the patients and family. They prep goodie bags to give to the patients who have graduated from their chemo treatments along with them ringing the bell. The work accomplished by the Infusion team requires employees who see their lives here not just as work or another job but as a true vocation.
