A patient required emergent surgery for spinal cord compression with acute paraplegia. My nurse was very helpful in preparing the nursing for the surgery and should be recognized. My nurse was extraordinarily helpful in preparing her patient for emergent surgery for spinal cord compression. She was on top of sending the patient to MRI, calling the blood bank to send up platelets, and beginning the transfusion in time for surgery. Whenever we called to ensure these things were happening, she had already done them. Her dedication to excellence helped maximize the patient’s chances of recovering leg function. Furthermore, she did it all while expressing exemplary compassion toward her patient. Please recognize Nurse Irene for her outstanding service.
