Jackie never fails to shine during critical moments in the ER, especially Stroke Alerts. This week we had a patient come in to our hospital that was experiencing a SEVERE stroke. During a stroke alert, time is of the essence. The patient's family was scared and at the bedside. Jackie was working quickly and efficiently to treat the patient. She was a patient advocate and communicated with the physician to see that the patient was treated accordingly and most importantly in our 60 minute time frame goal.

Jackie exemplifies teamwork, leadership, hard work and compassion. The clock was ticking and Jackie literally had the medicine premixed, hung and had the bolus drawn up and "on the hub" anticipating the doctors order. When she got the go ahead she medicated the patient with less than 2 minutes to spare. That is a great nurse - Giving Great Care and she does it every time, every day! Her great skill, focus and determination deserves recognition.
