Jimmy is one of the most reliable, compassionate, and patient nurses I have ever worked with. He is a great listener and extremely knowledgeable in every situation. Jimmy doesn't let anything bother him and always finds the best in people. I have worked with James (Jimmy) for 3 years and have witnessed his exceeding compassion towards not only his patients but also his co-workers. Jimmy is one of our senior nurses who is frequently in the role of charge nurse or preceptor, but these roles never stop him from showing compassion to the newest nurse on the floor and lending a helping hand or a listening ear whenever he can. In the last few years, the ICU has been a stressful place to work, with lots of nurse turnover, but Jimmy is one nurse who always checks in on others and tries to make the newest nurse feel supported.

As charge nurse, he can frequently be found in a patient room lending a helping hand or doing laps around the unit to see if anyone needs extra help. I think Jimmy exemplifies what it means to be a leader in the ICU. Additionally, one would be hard-pressed to find Jimmy complaining at work. He highlights people's strengths, and never puts anyone down for their weaknesses. Jimmy brings joy to the workplace.
