I flew in from out of state to advocate and care for my mom while she was in the hospital. The timing of the procedures impacted the meal process for my mom on a few different occasions. One of these times, I observed Jane showing my mom where the number was to call, she provided the menu and the phone. She did this in such a kind and sensitive manner. I mention this because Jane sensed my mom could not handle several step directions as well as her hearing and understanding on the phone. Jane waited to learn the person taking the order would have to call right back. 15 minutes or so later, Jane checked in to learn the order still had not been placed. She assisted my mom in dialing the phone, attempting to provide the opportunity for my mom to independently place her order. When it was clear my mom was having difficulty hearing and understanding what she was being asked, Jane, became the liaison. She too had the same difficulty yet hung in there to be sure my mom ordered what she wanted and that the order was confirmed. This took tremendous amounts of patience, which seemed so natural for Jane. The professionalism she displayed that day was outstanding. As well, remaining consistent throughout my mom’s stay. Thank you!
