Jane consistently takes into account the needs of patients by listening to their fears and concerns when scheduling and providing instructions for patients who need cardiac diagnostic testing and interventional procedures. She provides information about procedures in a way that is understandable and takes steps to develop and update the comprehensive information that is given to patients to use as a reference when preparing for their procedure. She always greets patients and families with a warm smile whether it's in person or in the tone of her voice over the phone. She does daily discussions of cases to schedule, including any special needs/circumstances. She's a skilled mentor/leader with the orientation process and ongoing learning; shares tools/skills that are essential to get our work done in a more efficient, organized, and timely manner.
She supportively listens to the concerns of colleagues; I always feel comfortable discussing problems/issues and know that my voice is being heard. She participates in weekly meetings with the manager and cardiologists and structural heart nurses and team. She works closely with cardiology providers, supervisors, managers, nurse colleagues, cath lab, cardiology clinic, EP clinic, and cardiothoracic surgery. She works closely with structural heart clinic nurses to understand individual patient needs in scheduling complex, multiple workup procedures related to TAVR and Watchman procedures.
She is excellent at listening to and understanding complex scheduling needs of providers, and department needs in general, and readily shares firsthand knowledge in an articulate manner regarding pertinent changes. She consistently demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and leadership. She is an expert in scheduling cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures, has firsthand knowledge as a previous cath lab nurse, and engages in ongoing learning. She consistently demonstrates excitement and love for the profession of nursing through her positive and upbeat attitude.
She is readily able to identify any current and potential needs/problems and is skilled at advocating for patients to promote safe outcomes. Jane has what it takes to be an excellent nurse.
