As Mom stated, care and compassion exuded from Jane's eyes.
Our mother was a patient for over a week. She was admitted through the ER and her condition was both emergent and dire. Jane was one of Mom's first nurses once she was admitted. It was readily apparent that Jane is an outstanding individual and nurse. Her compassion was demonstrated by her ability to make our mother comfortable. She always apologized for causing any pain or discomfort during any task that she needed to perform. Her constant reassurance to Mom was greatly appreciated. It was necessary for Mom to have a nasogastric tube placed. During the placement, Jane's continual reassurance and explanation of what was happening were comforting to Mom and our family. As Mom stated, care and compassion exuded from Jane's eyes. After Mom's surgery and time in ICU, she was transferred to a different unit. Jane took her break time to come to that unit and visit Mom, even assisting her in walking to the bathroom. Our Mom was a "no information" patient and, given the public profession of one of our family members, Jane went above and beyond to ensure our family's privacy during this time. Jane is definitely a caring, compassionate, reassuring, and empathetic nurse. She is a valuable asset to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and is certainly a DAISY Nurse.
