January 2024 Honoree
Janet Maxwell, RN
In November, I underwent a procedure that left me in absolute excruciating pain once I awoke in the recovery room. Janet went above and beyond, and I truly mean that as I am an OhioHealth employee myself. Of course, during any procedure involving the bladder and an inflation, they make you urinate before leaving. I just woke up and this task seemed almost impossible at the time. Janet took it upon herself to kneel down with me while I was on the toilet crying out in pain. She easily could've left me in the bathroom by myself, although she took it upon herself to kneel down and rub my back the entire time. I was able to urinate after a minute or so and I easily could've given up. Not only this but she exemplified what the true Ohio health mission is all about. I have not stopped thinking about this woman since I have left the hospital. Janet was so kind, and caring I truly hope if I ever end up in the hospital again, I pray it's her hands healing me. Janet, you have inspired me to be an outstanding nurse and so much more, and I am happy to announce I will be starting LPN classes in January. Janet is the most amazing woman I have ever met.
Thank you, Janet, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
