Jason Aikele is a travel RN that works in the Cath Lab. Jason goes above and beyond not only in the care he provides to our patients but teamwork he demonstrates in multiple areas in the hospital. Examples of this are as follows:

1. Since January 1st Jason has picked up 19 extra shifts on day and night shifts (9 being as Charge Nurse) on Cardiology, Cardiac Rehab Gym/Mab Clinic, Medical and the Nephrology floor totaling 228 hours above his required Cath Lab traveling requirements.

2. He is always willing to come up and help relieve for lunches or cover staff so they can run errands they normally would not be able to do while working.

3. He has been the “Clinical Coach” for other travelers and new hire RNs when he has picked up these extra shifts.

4. One day he came to pediatrics to pick up an adult patient going for a heart Cath procedure and noticed the fish tank was green due to not being cleaned for some time. Jason took it upon himself to come in and totally clean this dirty fish tank due to the renovation and expansion. He then offered to help pick a new fish tank and help set it up for this new unit's expansion.
