We had a patient who had been on the unit for several days. She was not eating, and everyone was concerned about her. She would not eat for any of the nurses. When Jason took over her care, he took the time to talk with her, get to know what she liked to eat and basically laid everything on the table. The patient opened up to him, and he was able to get her to eat. This may not seem like a big deal, but how he got her to eat was. See, Jason does not eat lunch. He does a protein shake, and that is all. He sat with the patient and ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with her. Then, on his day off on Saturday, he came up to the hospital and brought her some tacos for her to eat. What he did for this patient goes above and beyond. I can’t thank Jason enough for his dedication to his patients.
