I was in severe pain and periodically Jason would check on me, making sure to verbalize the plan and what his next step would be. He entered my room each time calling me by name and telling me each time, "You are in great hands, I won't let anything happen to you." Jason had 2 other patients. He made me feel like I was his only patient. It was a somber time, that Christmas Eve, with me about to spend the next day in the hospital. Christmas day also happens to be my birthday. Jason made me feel special. The nursing care he provided was compassionate and selfless. After all, it was his Christmas, too.
