My husband came into the emergency department with multiple gunshot wounds. Throughout my ordeal, this nurse came out to talk to me and through the following surgeries. His calm, reassuring presence gave me such a peace of mind. My husband does not remember much from the first 4 weeks. On his 8th surgery, he said he hoped to see a nurse again. I asked him to describe this person and was surprised that it was the same person who had talked to me a month prior. The fact that my husband remembered him, means this nurse made a huge impression on him. He brought me dinner on his day off and left me a note. The evening of my husband's passing, he brought me news of what was happening in the room. He stayed after his shift to make sure I was okay. What a wonderful, caring person. Thank you.
